The School of Business Studies was started in the year 1995 to impart Management & Commerce Education to motivate young budding managers. General Instructions
The Ph.D. candidate without M.Phil should undertake the course work; it shall have three papers which including “Research and Publication Ethics” paper. The Ph.D. candidate exempted from the course work because of completion of M.Phil should write the paper “Research and Publication Ethics”. The M.Phil candidates who have registered in inter-disciplinary mode should write three papers including “Research and Publication Ethics” within one year of admission into the Ph.D. Programme.

Masters of Commerce or M.Com is a post graduate level course ideal for candidates who wish to make a career in banking financial services and insurance (BFSI) as well as accounting and commerce sectors. The 2-year course delves deeper into the functioning of the economy, capital, revenue, trade, taxes, etc. taught in B. Com. B.Com. in Computer Applications is a 3-year Under Graduate course designed to impart advanced learning to students in the discipline of Commerce, particularly involving the application of software technology for professional requirements, merging the academic specialties of Commerce and Computer Applications.
As a minimum criterion of eligibility, candidates seeking admission to the course need to have completed the 10+2 or equivalent level of education from a recognized educational Board, and in the Commerce stream, with Accounts, Math, Business, and Economics as main subjects, with a minimum aggregate score of 50%.
The course imparts knowledge about Commerce and it involves design and development of programs like MS-Office, Tally, SQL, C++, VB.net, HTML, Internet, JavaScript and XML. The course also offers wide perspectives through field visits, seminars, symposia, conferences, workshops, guest lectures, video conferencing, practical lab and project work. In addition it provides dual opportunities in the enterprising fields of both commerce and IT.
Students opting to undergo a course in B.Com (Computer Applications) learn not only the subjects of Commerce, but are also taught to use the software technology for their professional requirements. The course bridging commerce and computer applications helps them to become smart and employable. Training in Computer Applications in the field of commerce is an extra mileage in placements.
